Mount Logan EcoLodge is a place to feel at home in the wild.

Our Story

Nestled in the heart of the Yukon, at the gateway to Kluane National Park, Mount Logan EcoLodge was born from a deep love for nature and adventure.

While it initially served as a simple overnight base for travelers exploring the region’s raw beauty, the lodge was reimagined in 2018. Today, it has evolved far beyond that initial offering, becoming a unique eco-conscious destination focused on providing an intimate connection with the wilderness and unforgettable Yukon experiences.

Over the years, we’ve nurtured this space with care, blending rustic charm with sustainable living. Every detail reflects our love for the land, from the cozy, handcrafted interiors to the locally inspired cuisine and the eco-conscious choices we make every day

Our lodge has evolved over the years, shaped by our care and love for the land.
We've focused on creating a welcoming atmosphere with rustic charm, handcrafted details, and locally inspired food for our guests to enjoy.

Roxanne Tanase-Mason

Owner, Lead Guide & Visionary

Meet Roxanne, the driving force behind Mount Logan EcoLodge & Yukon Guided Adventures. Her journey began far from the Yukon, leading her from Montreal through guiding adventures across the Canadian Rockies and the European Alps – including teaching climbing in Switzerland. A graduate of TRU’s Adventure Guide program, she completed her ACMG Hiking and Backpacking Guide certifications in 2001, bringing over two decades of rich, international experience to the Kluane wilderness she now calls home.

In 2018, Roxanne took the helm of Mount Logan EcoLodge, infusing it and Yukon Guided Adventures with her vision: sharing the transformative power of this landscape by blending adventure guiding, yoga, and wellness with heartfelt hospitality. She is also a dedicated advocate, passionate about inspiring women of all ages to find strength, connection, and their own sense of adventure in the great outdoors.

Mario Villemure

Master of Logistics & Kluane Enthusiast

Mario is the vital force behind the scenes at Mount Logan EcoLodge. He’s our administrative guru, an invaluable partner in developing and growing the business, and a true behind-the-scenes linchpin.

When Roxanne first met Mario in 2014, she was immediately impressed by Mario’s dedication, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit. Learning that he was also a competitor in the grueling Yukon Arctic Ultra, which he completed not once, but twice, further solidified her respect for his determination and exceptional work ethic.

While he may not be leading every tour, Mario’s contributions are essential to ensuring smooth operations and creating a welcoming environment for our guests. His passion for the outdoors extends beyond the lodge. He’s an avid runner and hiker. Keep an eye out for him on future expeditions, as he’s always eager to share his love for the Yukon and its hidden treasures.

Kilderic Moroy (Derek)

Yukon Guide & Nature Photographer

Originally from France, Derek moved to British Columbia as a teenager. His Yukon journey began years ago. He met Roxanne on the Chilkoot Trail in 2017. With over 6 years of guiding experience specifically in the Yukon, Derek is deeply passionate about sharing the region’s hidden gems and breathtaking mountain scenery – though don’t ask him to guide a water trip!

An avid runner and talented nature photographer, Derek often captures the stunning beauty he explores. Known for his friendly, calm nature, he ensures a memorable and safe experience for all guests. Beyond guiding, Derek has been instrumental in helping us grow since its early days and also lends his expertise to Parks Canada during the summer, promoting conservation. We’re thrilled to have his experience, passion, and keen eye as part of the team!

Mio Kucerova

Culinary Fusion Artist & Head Chef

Mio is the culinary heart of Mount Logan EcoLodge. Born in the Czech Republic to a Czech father and Japanese mother, she brings a unique global perspective to our kitchen. When she’s not crafting delicious meals, Mio is a passionate outdoorswoman, spending every free moment exploring the stunning Kluane landscape surrounding the lodge.

This deep connection to nature directly inspires her cooking. Mio delights in incorporating locally harvested and foraged ingredients whenever possible. Her vibrant, ever-changing menus are a creative fusion reflecting her cultural heritage, international travels, and the wild bounty of the Yukon, offering guests everything from delicate Asian-influenced dishes to comforting European classics.

Logan

The Lodge Dog

Mount Logan Ecolodge wouldn’t be the same without its four-legged resident, Logan. This friendly and well-behaved dog is part of the lodge’s charm, adding to the authentic Yukon atmosphere. He loves greeting guests and relaxing by the fire but knows his manners—he stays off the furniture and respects mealtime boundaries. His presence makes the lodge feel even more like home, offering warmth, companionship, and a true northern welcome.

*Importantly, in this bear country, Logan also helps to keep bears away from the property, adding an extra layer of security for our guests.
*Please be aware that the lodge dogs do not enter guest rooms.

FAQ

Is it safe with bears around?

We’re in the Yukon, so yes, wildlife is part of the landscape. But bear encounters are rare, and our lodge is in a quiet, low traffic area. We take safety seriously and follow clear protocols to avoid attracting animals.

We’ll also share a few simple guidelines with you so you can explore the outdoors with confidence and peace of mind. Respecting nature is part of the experience here.

Should I drive to the lodge?

Yes, we highly recommend having your own vehicle, especially during the spring, summer, and fall. Distances in the Yukon can be long, and having your own car gives you the ultimate freedom and flexibility to explore the stunning Kluane region and surrounding areas at your own pace and comfort.

For the winter months, if you are not experienced or comfortable with winter driving conditions (which can include snow and ice), driving yourself might not be the best option.
In this case, we offer pick-up services, or we can help arrange transportation with a local subcontractor. Additionally, please note that most of our multi-day winter packages already include transportation to and from the lodge.

So, while driving yourself is strongly suggested for most of the year, alternative transportation options are available for the winter season if needed.

Can we see the Northern Lights?

The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are typically visible in our area from mid-August to mid-April. However, seeing them is never guaranteed as it depends on several factors: solar activity (aurora strength), clear skies (no cloud cover), and sufficient darkness.

Our location, far from city light pollution, offers an excellent chance to witness this breathtaking natural phenomenon during the main viewing season!

While there’s sometimes still aurora activity later in April or even early May, the increasing daylight hours significantly reduce the viewing window and chances. For this reason, we recommend planning trips specifically for aurora viewing between late August and mid-April for the best probability.

Should we hire a guide?

Hiring a guide is a great idea not only for safety, but also to discover hidden gems and learn more about the land, wildlife, and culture. We recommend checking out our partner company, Yukon Guided Adventures, for guided tours and experiences.

I have severe food allergies. Can you accommodate special dietary needs during my stay?

We do our best to accommodate special dietary needs, especially when it comes to severe food allergies. However, since we’re located in a remote area, it’s important that you let us know as early as possible. This gives us time to check if we can source the appropriate ingredients and prepare safely for your stay. Your comfort and safety are very important to us!

Choosing Mount Logan EcoLodge & Yukon Guided Adventures means choosing an authentic, personal, and truly memorable Yukon experience.

Mount Logan Ecolodge respectfully acknowledges that we are situated on the Traditional
Territory of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations.
